Greater Life Options and Opportunities for Women (GLOW Uganda)
is a Christian faith-based Not for Profit organization that was
founded in April 2016, to contribute to the women's empowerment and development agenda.
This grew out of the founder’s passion for the social and economic transformation of vulnerable rural women and girls. These include widows, unemployed, female household heads, girls with no education support, and orphans.
GLOW applies proven poverty-alleviation strategies such as Health Promotion, Business loans, Business start-up and Expansion assistance, Skills training and Information sharing, Mentoring, and Discipleship.
Key Interventions
We endeavor to provide tools that vulnerable women and girls need to work their way out of poverty, care for their families, and become change agents in their communities by providing:
Health Promotion
This strategy is designed with projects that focus on providing prevention information, training on healthy living, getting and taking clean water, keeping a clean and green environment and maternal care because good health is essential for productivity.
Business loans, Start-up and Expansion assistance
This strategy design focuses on helping women access interest-free loans or low interest loans, basic business tools and farm equipment to start up and expand their businesses.
Vocational skills training &
Mentoring, Discipleship and Social group cohesion.
Social Groups: GLOW Uganda to date has 12 groups of 30 women spread over Kabale and Rubanda districts.
